Fundraising sale for mission trip

Fundraising sale for mission trip! This weekend: Thursday, September 22, 8am-6pm, Friday, September 23, 8am-7pm, Saturday, September 24, 8am-1pm.  1002 1st Ave Vinton, next to the Ray House.   Huge variety!!  Free will donation!  There will also be homemade baked goods, jams, and craft items.  All for a good cause! Rose Huber plans a seven-country mission trip, and proceeds all go toward this effort.

Benefit for Spencer's Grove Church restoration

Windstorm Tree Care Workshop Tuesday afternoon AND evening

 Homeowners who want to get advice about how to replace trees destroyed by the storm or how to repair storm-damaged trees are invited to a meeting this Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School library. The meeting, hosted by Greg Walston of the Benton County ISU Extension and Mark Pingenot of Trees Forever, begins at 6:30 p.m.

'Haunted Trails to you....'

Make plans now to enjoy a fall evening under the stars with your friends while taking a trip down the Haunted Trail at Rodger's Park. This years event event will be held Friday, September 30th from 7-11 pm, and Saturday, October 1st from 8-11 pm. Kids from 5-12 $4.00 and Adults $8.00. Rodger's Park is located northwest of Vinton off of Hwy 218.

SNL Kickoff at Blessed Hope this Sunday

Beginning at 6 p.m. Blessed Hope will kick off the music season with music provided by local musicians and singers. Sunday Night Live is a time to gather, relax, and enjoy a time of fellowship with other believers, and is held the 3rd Sunday of each month. This month will feature many songs of contemporary Christian music of our time. If weather permits, we will be outside enjoying the last of the fall weather, so bring a lawn chair!  If the weather won't cooperate, the service will be held inside.

Midwest Harvest Ministries to hold Conference

Midwest Harvest Ministries will be holding events this weekend, September 16th and 17th, at the Wings of Hope Stables 3223 Brandon Diagonal Blvd. in Brandon. Events include worship in music and various speakers. Pastor Charles Clark of the Hoover Church in Troy Mills, will be speaking on Saturday afternoon. As a child he was raised a Christian Scientist and later became a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.

Benton County Fair will be held a week later in 2012

  The Benton County Fair will be held one week later next year from July 25th - July 29, 2012. The same carnival "Sam's Amusements will be entertaining.   Mark it on your calendar now!
